How do I sign up to be on a team with a friend?
During online registration, you’ll be asked if you’d like to be paired with another player. Simply enter your friend’s name, if you both request each other, you’ll be placed on the same team.
Our regular foursome plays together every week. Can we all be on the same team?
You may request to be paired as two players on the same team, but it’s unlikely that all four players will be placed on one team. More often, your group will be split into pairs on different teams (for example, two players on Team 1 and two on Team 2). This creates a little friendly competition within your regular group while still allowing you to play together each week. You may play with whoever you want every week. We do not make the pairings, or foursomes, you can play with your same 3 friends every week even if you are different teams.
How many teams will there be? How many players per team?
The number of teams and players per team will depend on total league registration. We anticipate teams of approximately 8–10 players.
How many scores count toward the team total each week?
This will be finalized once team sizes are confirmed:
- Teams of 8 players: Likely top 3 gross and top 3 net scores will count; the remaining 2 scores will be dropped.
- Teams of 10 players: Likely top 3 gross and top 4 net scores will count; the remaining 3 scores will be dropped.
How does scoring work?
Scoring will be managed through Golf Genius. All players must download the free Golf Genius app. Each week, you’ll receive a unique access code at check-in to open your scorecard. Enter your hole-by-hole scores during your round, and the live leaderboard will update in real time. Only Front Nine scores count toward the weekly team total, but you’re welcome to play all 18 holes.
How do I get a handicap?
All league players must have an active handicap index through Golf Canada.
- Golf Canada membership is included with Stonebridge memberships.
- Advantage Card and Public players can purchase a Golf Canada membership for $44 + tax through our online store or in the Pro Shop.
- If you already have a Golf Canada membership outside of Stonebridge, the registration form will ask for your membership number.
- Once you enter enough scores in the Golf Canada app or website, your handicap index will be generated.
I already have a handicap through another app. Can I use it?
No. All league participants must maintain their handicap index through the Golf Canada system.
I don’t want to purchase a Golf Canada membership. Can I still play?
Yes, you may still participate; however, you will compete each week as a 0 handicap player.
How do I book a League tee time?
League rounds may be played at any time on Wednesdays.
Designated League-only tee times are reserved each Wednesday from 4:00pm–6:30pm. These can be booked through the “League Players Enter Here” portal on our website. All league players receive 7-day advance booking privileges for these times.
If you prefer to play outside the designated window, book your tee time as usual through the appropriate portal:
- Members: 7-day advance booking
- Advantage Card: 6-day advance booking
- Public: 5-day advance booking
How do I check in for my League round?
All players must check in with the Pro Shop prior to play.
- Advantage Card and Public players will pay the applicable green fee.
- All players will receive their weekly Golf Genius access code at check-in.
